An Early Christmas Present at Journey Recruitment

As the winter months creep in and you catch yourself singling along to Christmas songs on the radio, you wonder how you have got to the end of November and Christmas is just around the corner! Well if you’re anything like me, Alice – Recruitment Consultant here at Journey Recruitment, then you would’ve been singing them for a very long time. But here at Journey Recruitment Christmas really has come early as our fantastic Recruitment Consultant Georgia, has stepped into the role of Office Manager, and we could not be more delighted.

I decided to sit down with Georgia and catch up ahead of her first day in her new role and see how she is feeling…

A: Hey G! Firstly, congratulations! I’m so happy for you, but let’s get to know your story a little more… How long have you worked in Recruitment?

G: Thank you so much, it’s such an exciting time! I have worked within Recruitment for two and a half years now, I feel that I have learnt so much and I honestly have enjoyed every minute.

A: How time flies! What would you say is your favourite part of your job?

G: To be honest, I don’t think I could choose a favourite part of my role. My role is so varied, from the recruitment side, to management of the office and the staff. No two days are the same, and that is what I really enjoy! I do and always will, love the satisfaction of helping people to find their new roles and helping clients to fill their job posts; just to know that I am making a difference to people’s lives is great!

A: That’s so lovely, and what a difference you do make! What is your favourite work memory whilst working at Journey?

G: There are so many it’s hard to choose, but if I had to it would be when one candidate, a university graduate, was looking to secure a position linked to their degree and had been trying so hard to find a suitable position. I had a good look into the opportunity’s we had and presented them with a role that I felt would suit them perfectly. They were unsure they were qualified enough but I assured them I was very confident it would suit them perfectly and that they would do great. After a lengthy recruitment process, they were in fact offered the role and to say the candidate was grateful would be an absolute understatement. They were over the moon, they cried when I explained they had been successful, and I will never ever forget the words they said me… “Thank you so much Georgia, I couldn’t and wouldn’t have done this without you, you have changed my life and I will be forever grateful!”

This is definitely one of my favourite memories whilst working here at Journey Recruitment.

A: Thanks for your time Georgia, it’s been great catching up with you!

Now let’s go to Carole Wilks, Director of Journey Recruitment to hear her thoughts on the brilliant changes happening here at the moment.

A: Hi Carole, what are your thoughts on Georgia being our little Christmas present this year?

C: I am so delighted to have offered Georgia her promotion to Office Manager within Journey Recruitment, it was a very natural step up for Georgia in my eyes.

A: Aren’t we all, it’s such wonderful news! How has Georgia grown since joining the Journey here?

C: I recruited Georgia over two years ago without any recruitment experience at all, but I could see that, with just a bit of training, she would be an excellent Consultant and Georgia did not prove me wrong, it’s been amazing to see her grow to the place she is in today!

She went over and beyond expectations in her job role and as the months progressed and she learnt more and more, she took on more responsibility and we all started to rely on her and look up to her, so we are all delighted here and cannot wait to welcome Georgia into her new role.

Congratulations Georgia, you deserve every success!!

A: Great! Thank you for your time Carole.

I think it’s safe to say from everyone here at Journey Recruitment, congratulations Georgia! We are so beyond pleased for you and will be here to support you through this exciting time.
