Data Protection Officer – Part time

21 hours per week

Salary £45,000 per annum depending on experience which will be prorated, plus excellent benefits.

The main objective of this role is to provide a pragmatic and proactive data governance function.  To actively review and support data processes to be compliant and effective.

Duties

• You will be the main point of contact for all company data, including GDPR and data protection compliance
• You will provide a proactive and practical focus to help the business deliver its strategy effectively
• Interpret legislation and best practice to generate clear requirements and actions for data owners
• Promptly and effectively answer queries and requests for assistance
• Design and implement a training and awareness programme for the organisation
• Develop and carry out a continuing audit/assurance programme for data processing activity across the organisation
• You will actively work across the entire business to constructively challenge and support best practice in data governance

Skills required

• Recognised qualification in data protection
• Operated at a senior level in a similar data governance or data protection role
• Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of all aspects of data governance
• Ability to work proactively and constructively with a wide range of people. Finding solutions to assist people in delivering their goals
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills
• Strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail
