International Tax Manager

A leading global organisation are recruiting in their Newbury based office for an International Tax Manager

Reporting to the International Tax Director, based in Newbury, the purpose of this role is to provide global (excluding North America) tax support across the Group. Including HPE Software – ensuring opportunities to deliver value are maximised, risks are managed and all compliance obligations are dealt with.

The International Tax Manager will work with various members of the Group Tax team.

Role description

  • Direct tax compliance
  • Work with the finance team and advisors to deliver the global tax compliance matters, including:
  • Support with day to day management of global outsource contract;
  • Review of direct tax computations and returns, for the UK entities specifically, prepare RDEC and patent box claims and support with group relief and worldwide debt cap/new UK interest restriction rules;
  • Transfer pricing entries and documentation -ensure transfer pricing arrangements are accurately reflected across the group;
  • Support with tax payments, including preparation of UK quarterly instalment payment calculations; and
  • Local tax audit and enquiry support.
  • Reporting
  • Support with interim and year end group reporting and local provisioning, as required.
  • Support with other group wide reporting obligations such as CbCR
  • Ad hoc advice and support
  • Provide day to day support to the business on direct and indirect tax matters and advise on global employment taxes.
  • Provide accurate and timely tax advice and support with delivery and implementation of adhoc tax advisory projects in relation to a range of group wide projects.
  • Supporting with the global roll out of group tax strategies.
  • Support with tax risk management including implementation of SOx controls, publication of tax strategy and responsibility for SAO.
  • Build strong relationships within the business and be an ambassador for the tax department.
  • Monitor and advise on legislation changes.
  • Assist as necessary with integration of HPE software post acquisition on 1 September.

Experience and qualifications required

  • ACA or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 6 years’ tax pqe either in an accounting firm or in-house
  • In-depth experience of managing corporate tax affairs across a number of territories
  • Experience of multinational transfer pricing arrangements
  • Ideally experience of working with or for a UK plc
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Problem-solver, with high level of enthusiasm and strong commitment to meet tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues/advisors in diverse locations
