Learning and Development Manager

Our client is an award winning, Legal 500 ranked, full service law firm who are rapidly growing. As a result of the growth they have restructured their HR department and are seeking a dedicated Learning and Development Manager to help develop their talent.

The successful candidate will have the responsibility for developing, shaping, and driving the Firm’s training, learning, and development across all of its employees. Reporting directly to the Firm’s Finance Director, you will have day-to-day contact with the Heads of Departments across the Firm, as well as working closely with each employee in the Firm on their individual training and development to ensure retention and career development for people across our business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Devising and delivering bespoke training / learning and development plans and ensuring those plans are delivered for / with each employee
  • Collaborate with the Heads of Departments and each employee to ensure effective training and development for each employee of the Firm and the effectiveness of the Firm’s continuing performance review process
  • Manage, lead, and drive the Firm’s training and development and specialism programme
  • Report on improvements across the Firm and assist with identifying opportunities for further improvement, development, and specialisation
  • Prepare and deliver specific training programmes on generic service topics
  • Work with identifying and managing relationships with specific training providers across areas of development for the Firm and in terms of improving the lawyers specialist knowledge and skills
  • Preparing and mapping areas for improvement and development across each aspect of the Firm’s practice and operations
  • Attend events, training fairs, and other activities to identify and source potential opportunities for new training and development
  • Play an active part in planning and mapping talent improvements throughout the organisation to assist and support people retention

You will need a strong background in L&D and must be credible and articulate with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships. You will be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude and the ability to pick up multiple and competing priorities.  You will be experienced in implementing training and development strategies aligned to challenging commercial goals and business objectives.  Previous experience of working with the legal sector would be an advantage. if this is you, then apply now! Salary: Up to £55,000 plus up to a 20% bonus

Location: Camberley, Surrey

Working hours: Monday- Friday, 9.00am-5.30pm
