Our client’s Legal 500 and Chambers recognised Employment team has grown by 35% in the last year and over the last three years, the Employment Department has more than trebled in size. Our client continues to attract clients of the highest quality in a range of areas which includes specialist business immigration services. Our client are working to grow the immigration work and team even further with the addition of an experienced Legal Assistant to provide both junior level fee earning support and a secretarial service in the office in Camberley, Surrey.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assisting fee-earners with preparation of visa applications from both within the UK and overseas, including drafting of application forms, booking visa appointments, uploading supporting documentation
- Client engagement and attendance at client meetings.
- Communication with the client and interaction with them around the immigration requirements.
- Assist with research as instructed by fee-earners.
- Drafting documents including contracts, notes of advice, policies and procedures and correspondence. Further, to include applications for immigration.
- Sending client instructions and closing advice upon completion of cases
- Ensure file checklists completed, and the file is in order in accordance with procedure
- Ownership of the calendars and reminders in relation to the renewals of upcoming applications.
- Picking up new enquiries and scheduling fee-earner consultations including making of appointments, advising reception of clients/meetings, assisting fee-earners with the arrangement of external/internal meetings and updating diaries.
- Assist department within office with the answering of incoming calls and taking messages where appropriate.
- Assist in organising team’s business development plan and collate all necessary information for projects.
- Assist fee-earners with preparation of client bills.
Required Skills
- Previous Immigration or employment experience in a secretarial / assistant / paralegal role is essential.
- Previous experience of working with large corporate clients would also be an advantage.
- The successful candidate will be IT literate with excellent typing skills.
- They should be able to demonstrate good administrative, organisational and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and a professional telephone manner.
