Are you a law graduate looking for your first step on the ladder as a Legal Assistant?
Ideally you will be doing your LPC or have done your LPC?
Or are you currently a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary or Paralegal with ideally some immigration/employment experience?
This role based in Camberley, Surrey is within a highly regarded, fast growing law firm and the main purpose of the role is to provide junior level fee support as well as secretarial tasks for this busy employment department working for the Immigration Solicitor.
- Meeting fee-earning and time recording targets.
- Assist fee earners with caseload and undertaking fee earning work under direction of fee earner.
- Client engagement and attendance at client meetings.
- Attending meetings / conference calls for the purpose of the advice being given.
- Communication with the client and interaction with them around the immigration and employment requirements.
- Assist with research as instructed by fee earners via the Internet.
- Drafting documents including contracts, notes of advice, policies and procedures and correspondence.
- Preparation of precedent documents and support with precedent drafting.
- Preparing applications to change immigration status
- Management of the Home Office’s online sponsor licence system
- Ensure file checklists completed, the file is in order in accordance with procedure and all client files comply with client care processes.
- Ownership of the calendars and reminders in relation to the renewals of upcoming applications.
- Type all Digital Dictation
- Prepare correspondence, documents, e-mails, faxes
- Assist fee earners with preparation of client bills.
- Assist fee earners with the upkeep of the department’s precedent library.
- Car owners are preferred due to location but ideal locations would be Blackwater, Bracknell, Camberley, Farnborough, Sandhurst, Yateley, Ash Vale etc
