The role

We are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager/Business Change Manager/Senior Programme Manager/Head of Projects who can assist in achieving long term strategic and organisational goals within a short time frame.

The purpose of this role is to manage a portfolio of projects focussed on project, process and system development, providing long term delivery and project effectiveness. If successful, you will ensure that current and future projects are delivered in line with best practice project management techniques appropriate to the type and scale of projects and delivering the identified business benefit.

You will be working with an Executive team and other departments across the organisation to create a roadmap for future development aligned and prioritised in order to deliver strategic and business objectives. You will be responsible for further developing the existing governance framework and portfolio structure in order to deliver the necessary project capability to support delivery of the roadmap and business objectives. Finally, you will be delivering a complex series of related projects, effectively managing their interdependencies and allocating resources to support prioritised opportunities, providing dedicated leadership to the Portfolio Team, investing in their development.

It is essential that the role holder can demonstrate experience of portfolio delivery, translating business analysis, requirements definition and business case production into practical implementation. You will have outstanding communication and inter-personal skills as well effective negotiation and persuasion skills. You will have strong management skills with a proven capability to manage stakeholders at all levels as well as the team of up to 7 talented professionals.
