Recruitment Manager

Are you an experienced Recruiter looking for a new, exciting opportunity?

This Education/ Development organisation are looking for a Recruitment Manager to lead in the recruitment of staff.

Your main responsibility is to recruit staff for off season and summer courses and ensure that the centres are staffed with the right people, in the right place, at the right time.

This is mainly a home-based role working 9.00am-5.00pm, but you will be expected to be in the office in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, on a semi-regular basis. During the operating season, there may be some requirement to be on-call with evening work and weekend shifts in July, so flexibility is key.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the HR of the Operations Team (Contracts, Start Dates, Payroll)
  • Sourcing, Screening and interviewing applicants.
  • Completing interviews for successful applicants.
  • Coordinating safeguarding and specific online training for all staff.
  • Performing pre-employment background and criminal checks of all staff.
  • Providing administrative support for the recruitment process.
  • Ensure final confidential references are submitted for every employee.
  • Administration of Payroll or assisting the Payroll Administrator.
  • Design, implement and review assessment methodologies and processes..
  • Work with the Operational teams and Head of HR Services to review and develop effective training, internal communications and documents for staff.
  • Working with the Head of HR Services, design and implement effective regular staff satisfaction and engagement surveys and use the results to influence process improvements.

 

You will need:

  • Experience recruiting high volumes of frontline, operational staff – ideally with an understanding of the unique challenges of seasonal recruitment.
  • To be a confident people manager who is able to lead the team whilst being a hands-on recruiter.
  • To be a people person who is happy interviewing.
  • Have great attention to detail so that compliance levels remain high.
  • Flexible approach to problem solving and thrive under pressure.
  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Be tech savvy and know your way around a spreadsheet to be able to produce timely, accurate and engaging reports.
  • Be able to think about the bigger picture and put together long-term plans.
  • Have a passion and eye for continuous improvement..
  • Be tenacious – because peak season will get busy! – with a resilience and determination to get the job done.
  • Be prepared to get stuck in and be part of a strong, close-knit team.
