Senior HR Advisor

We are recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor to join an exciting, established organisation in Thame, Oxfordshire.

This is a 14 month contract to cover maternity leave and you will be managing the HR Advisor and HR Assistant.

Working hours: This is an office-based position, working 8.30am-5.00pm in the Thame office.

Salary: £40,000 plus £2,000 bonus

Key responsibilities:

  • Guide line managers through employee relations cases, intervening and steering in the appropriate direction taking into account company policies, employment law and best practice.
  • Management of case files relating to disciplinary, grievance, and long term absence, eligibility to work in the UK and parental leave management to include administration support for line managers. Liaising with Senior HR Advisor or occupational specialists where support required.
  • Support line managers with effective and efficient performance of their employees, facilitating appropriate interventions through the performance appraisal process.
  • Support the TUPE process of new contracts and departing contracts to ensure compliance to TUPE legislation. Maintaining accurate records of due diligence.
  • Prepare and issue contractual documentation for management new starters, including terminations and variations of employment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems, practices and policies within the company, ensuring they underpin the company culture.
  • In conjunction with Training Manager, support and delivery in-house training workshops on HR related areas.

Your experience:

  • Experience of working within a busy HR department and managing a team
  • CIPD qualification is essential
  • You will need an understanding of dealing with performance management, disciplinary, investigation and grievance
  • Knowledge of TUPE and LTS would be beneficial
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of UK employment law
