ROLE OVERVIEW
The role includes responsibility for guest relations, store presentation, stock management and display, event and operations management, staff training and revenue protection.
You will ensure that sales targets are achieved, retail staffing and consumable costs are within budget and that all retail transactions are accurately executed. In addition, you will manage the guest flow and activities at the event, as well as the cast of actors performing in the store. You will work with the finance team to ensure that the daily sales records are accurate, that stock wastage is minimised, and cash management is simple and effective.
RESPONSIBILITIES
EVENT PLANNING
- Work with the Event Producers
- Work with the Warehouse Manager to organise the back of house storage space and to schedule deliveries to store
- Ensure all items are priced and ready to go on sale
- Build displays with production team
RETAIL/EVENT OPERATIONS
- Liaise with the Event Producer on a daily basis regarding activities and guest experience, stock, takings, transactions and store performance
- Ensure store actors are fully trained in managing stock movements and write offs on the system
- Lead opening or closing each day – floats, tills, stock, and contribute to a daily motivating staff briefing
- Ensure the till system data is recorded and accessible and fully supports both retail sales and financial reporting
- Responsible for all stock transactions – ensuring stock transfers are received accurately and write offs are managed physically and systemically
- Ensure stock is stored safely and that each item has the correct daily opening stock
- Ensure the space (front and back of house) is cleaned daily by the Retail Assistants
- Train Retail Assistants on running technical elements of the store including lighting and sound
- Ensure the CCTV systems are running appropriately each day
HR
- Deliver training to staff
- Review rota for following day/week and make sure that there is adequate staff availability to cover
- Manage team of performing staff, ensuring that they deliver in line with the company brief
- Ensure team’s standards of presentation and service are adhered to, and propose appropriate action when necessary – reviewing with HR as appropriate
GUEST RELATIONS
- Ensure all guests are welcomed into the store and communication is clear regarding daily activities and events and items are clearly signed and priced
- Treat each guest as the most important person and respond to their comments and complaints
- Record any major complaints and guest issues and report back
SYSTEMS
- Overall responsibility for all tills in the unit. Management and resolution of glitches, errors, human errors and card machine issues
- Liaise with the Finance cash office at the beginning and end of each day to share any issues or feedback and implement any remedies required either to process, set-up or data
STORE CLOSURE
- Co-ordinate the counting and packing of items when store has closed – ensuring company guidelines are followed
- Plan staff rota of team to prepare return of product
- Manage return of stock items back
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience:
- Management of integrated EPOS systems and inventory at Event based retail
- Management of a guest attraction or installation
- Working within a fast-paced retail environment
- Delivering training, and coaching others on systems and processes
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- IT literate with ability to problem solve and engage others to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Attention to detail and ability to review and check own work
- Ability to plan and execute workload in an organised timely manner
- Driven to ensure processes are properly devised, documented and followed
- Collaborative with an ability to influence when required

Hours and days:
5 days per week – shifts of 7.5hrs per day (this may increase closer to Christmas)
