This is a key role in this construction organisation based just outside of Marlow, Bucks reporting to the Factory Manager
Job duties of the Welding Workshop role
- MIG welding & fabrication of products for the construction industry including samples and trail pieces
- Maintain a high level of workmanship.
- To work proactively as part of a team to improve productivity & efficiency.
- Responsible for cleanliness & tidiness of the workshop including machines are maintained.
- To follow all Company procedures & processes, including ISO9001, ISO14001 & EN1090-1 EXC2
- To assist with welding co-ordination & traceability of welded products for the construction industry.
- Document & record weld maps.
- Identify & organise WPQR/WPS requirements & welder qualification.
- Assist where necessary within the fabrication workshop, carrying out welder audits, dimensional inspection of fabrications & weld quality checks.
- Maintain calibration records.
- Undertake all NDT welding inspection requirements & documentation.
- Responsible for materials traceability & consumables throughout the welding process.
- To work proactively as part of a team to improve productivity & efficiency.
- Ensure production schedule is followed
- Assist where necessary within the fabrication workshop.
- Accompany third party Inspectors with regards to QC audits
Workshop Responsible Welding Coordinator Requirements:
- Supervisory and management experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- You will ideally have a welding/fabrication background that has developed from shop floor into welding co-ordination, welding inspection,
- A strong quality background to drive the implementation of quality processes & procedures.
- A knowledge of EN1090-1 & related welding standards is required.
- Must be able to interpret fabrication drawings & weld symbols.
