How We’re Keeping Recruitment Human in a World of AI

AI is changing the way we work, and recruitment is no exception.

From helping with job descriptions to speeding up admin and making it easier to manage information, there are plenty of ways technology can make recruitment more efficient.

At Journey Recruitment, we’re embracing those changes. But there’s one thing we don’t believe technology can replace: the human side of recruitment.

Recruitment is about more than matching a CV to a job

On paper, a candidate might tick every box. They might have the right experience, qualifications and technical skills. But will they enjoy the role? Will they work well with the team? Does the opportunity actually match what they want from their next move?

Those are the things you often discover through a real conversation. It’s why we take the time to get to know our candidates beyond their CV and understand what matters to them.

The same goes for our clients

A job description can tell us what a business needs someone to do. It doesn’t always tell us who will thrive there. Getting to know our clients, their teams, working environments and company cultures gives us a much clearer understanding of the person they’re really looking for.

Sometimes that means asking another question. Sometimes it means visiting the business. Sometimes it’s simply picking up the phone rather than relying on another automated process.

Those relationships help us make better, more considered introductions.

Using AI to support people, not replace them

We’re excited about the opportunities AI brings to recruitment.

If a tool can save our team time on repetitive tasks or make a process more efficient, that gives us more time for the parts of recruitment where we can add the most value: talking to people, understanding businesses and building relationships.

For us, it isn’t a choice between technology and people. It’s about using technology well while knowing when the human touch matters.

Because people understand people

Recruitment can have a huge impact on both sides. For a candidate, it could be the next chapter of their career. For an employer, it could be someone who becomes an important part of their team for years to come.

Those decisions deserve more than an algorithm.

Technology will continue to change how recruitment works, and we’ll continue to evolve with it. But it doesn’t matter how sophisticated the tools become, Journey Recruitment will always be built around conversations, relationships and getting to know the people behind the process.

Because ultimately, recruitment is about people, and we intend to keep it that way.
