Contracts & Supplier Manager

This is an exciting role for an experienced Contracts & Supplier Manager that holds a great understanding of procurement, sourcing plans, contract management, tendering, bids and supplier performance. This is working 35 hours a week 9am to 5pm daily, with 4 days a week WFH and only 1 day a week in the office based near the High Wycombe area. You will be the procurement point of contact for all the company’s commercial and contractual needs. The idea of the role is to ensure value for money, improve terms of business, mitigate risk, and manage contracts as well as the ongoing supplier performance.

You will maintain and update the procurement policy, along with other templates such as the sourcing and contract approval process and ensure compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements. Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal are key to the success of this role as you will be working with a range of stakeholders to document specifications and define sourcing strategies for key projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of procurement from sourcing suppliers to implementation.
  • Lead contract management and supplier performance activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document specifications, develop sourcing strategies, analyse request for proposal (RFP) outputs and tenders, draft and negotiate contracts.
  • Act as the primary contact for all procurement and contract activities, maintaining and updating critical documents like the contract register, procurement policy, and various templates and standard terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Experience

  • Involvement in all types of suppliers spend within a service industry ideally.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Proven experience of managing suppliers across various domains.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing legal contracts.
  • A proven track record of successful negotiation across diverse categories of spend.

Skills

  • Strong business and financial acumen with ability to evaluate, analyse and solve problems.
  • Ability to influence, align views, gain consensus, and provide clarity on what needs to be achieved.
  • Ability to be able to articulate how Procurement works and provide direction and flexibility when a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work.
  • Commitment to service excellence and process improvement.
  • Negotiating and Influencing Skills.
